Weligama is a south coast town known for beginner friendly surf and a broad bay. It feels a little quieter than nearby Mirissa while staying close to the same coastal strip.
Surf schools, beach walks, and day trips to Galle or Mirissa make it a flexible base.
Many travellers stay two nights to fit lessons and rest around travel days.
