Day by day plan
Day 1
Arrival (BIA) to Anuradhapura to Habarana
Airport welcome in Negombo and drive to the Cultural Triangle. Explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura: Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, and ancient monasteries. Then overnight in Habarana.
Day 2
Habarana Polonnaruwa
Day trip to the ancient royal city of Polonnaruwa: Gal Vihara rock sculptures, the royal palace ruins, and Parakrama Samudra, returning to Habarana for the night.
Day 3
Habarana Sigiriya, Pidurangala and Village Life
Sunrise at Pidurangala, the Sigiriya Lion Rock climb, a Habarana village tour with a bullock cart and lake safari, a home cooking class, and an evening cultural dance.
Day 4
Habarana to Trincomalee
Travel across to the east coast and settle in at Trincomalee for the night by the sea.
Day 5
Trincomalee Temples and Beaches
Visit Thirukoneswaram Kovil on Swami Rock, the Kanniya hot water springs, Velgam Vehera Buddhist temple, and time to relax on Trincomalee's calm beaches.
Day 6
Trincomalee to Kandy
Drive to the hill capital via the Dambulla Cave Temple, a Matale spice garden, and Aluviharaya rock temple. Evening visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Day 7
Kandy City and Bahirava Kanda
Explore Kandy's market and lakeside, then the Bahirava Kanda temple with its panoramic views over the city.
Day 8
Departure (BIA)
Transfer from Kandy to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight.
