Day-by-Day Plan
Day 1
Arrival (BIA) → Yala
Welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer south to the Yala region. Settle in near the park ahead of your first game drive.
Day 2
Yala — Full-Day Safari
Full day of morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Yala, home to the world's highest leopard density, along with elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, and abundant birdlife.
Day 3
Yala → Udawalawe Safari
Transfer to Udawalawe and head into the park for an afternoon safari among Sri Lanka's largest concentration of wild elephants.
Day 4
Udawalawe — Full-Day Safari
A full day exploring Udawalawe with morning and afternoon drives — elephants, buffalo, deer, eagles, and a visit option to the Elephant Transit Home.
Day 5
Udawalawe → Tangalle
Drive to the calm southern coast at Tangalle. Afternoon at leisure on the wide golden beach.
Day 6
Tangalle — Beach & Boat Ride
Relaxed beach day with a lagoon boat ride and kayaking, plus time at the tranquil 'Blue Beach' coves.
Day 7
Tangalle → Mirissa
Coastal drive to Mirissa via Matara beach, the Hummanaya blow hole, and the iconic Coconut Tree Hill viewpoint.
Day 8
Mirissa — Whale Watching
Early-morning whale and dolphin watching boat tour off Mirissa (in season), then a relaxed afternoon on the beach.
Day 9
Mirissa → Bentota
Head up the southwest coast toward Bentota, stopping at Jungle Beach and Talpe Beach along the way.
Day 10
Bentota — Madu River Safari & Mask Museum
Boat safari on the Madu River through mangrove tunnels and islets with a turtle hatchery visit, plus a stop at a traditional mask museum before a final beach evening.
Day 11
Departure (BIA)
Relaxed morning by the coast, then transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight.
